About the building
Odessa Townhomes is a modern collection of 26 residences located at 916 Orono Avenue in the heart of Langford. Completed in 2024 by 829 Development Group, these 3-storey townhomes feature durable steel-frame construction and energy-efficient European designs, including triple-glazed tilt-and-turn windows and metal roofs. Residents enjoy high-end finishes like quartz countertops and heat pumps, all within walking distance of Langford’s vibrant downtown amenities.
Odessa was developed by Vancouver-based 829 Development Group, and the 26 homes above are the first phase of a planned 53 across seven buildings. The townhomes are built from prefabricated light-gauge steel with cement-fibre siding, spray-foam insulation and triple-glazed European tilt-and-turn windows under steel roofs; each has a fully ducted multi-zone heat pump and is pre-wired for a Level 2 EV charger.
Plans are two- to four-bedroom homes with nine-foot ceilings, European-style kitchens and bathrooms, a walk-in shower and soaker tub in the primary ensuite, a ground-floor storage room and two private parking spaces, mostly as a tandem garage and carport. Published sizes range from about 1,060 to 1,900 square feet depending on the source and the phase. Four visitor stalls serve the site, and the development is pet-friendly. Langford Lake, Danbrook Park, City Centre Park and downtown Langford's Goldstream Avenue are all nearby.
About Langford Proper
Langford Proper is the MLS name for the centre of the City of Langford: the Goldstream Avenue strip, Station Avenue, Claude Road and the blocks around Veterans Memorial Park and Langford Lake. Langford incorporated in 1992, became a city in 2003 and was the fastest-growing community in British Columbia at the 2021 census, and its downtown is the newest high-density core in Greater Victoria. Almost all of the housing here is condominium, apartment or townhome stock built since the early 2000s, with towers of 18 storeys and more now proposed around Peatt Road and Goldstream Avenue.
The neighbourhood is unusually well served for its size. Langford Lake and the Ed Nixon Trail sit a few blocks from the shops, the YMCA-YWCA aquatic centre and library opened in 2016, and City Centre Park, Eagle Ridge Community Centre and Starlight Stadium, home to Pacific FC and Rugby Canada, are at the west end of the core. Westshore Town Centre and the Millstream big-box stores handle most errands. Belmont Secondary is on the lake. Langford Exchange is the West Shore transit hub, and the Route 95 RapidBus runs from there to the Legislature about every fifteen minutes; the Galloping Goose crosses the city, and the drive downtown is about twenty minutes outside rush hour.
