Montague House is a well-maintained, 55+ age-restricted residential community located directly across from Tillicum Centre. Completed in 1998, the complex consists of two 4-storey buildings. Montague House is registered as strata plan VIS4519, a 55-plus community in two stucco buildings on poured-concrete foundations, with the rear building set back from the road and reached from Tillicum and Albina; strata records count 34 homes rather than the figure above. The common rooms include a social lounge with a full kitchen, a piano lounge, a library, an exercise area, a workshop and a guest suite, with an on-site caretaker, controlled entry, elevators, lockers and wheelchair access. Parking is by waitlist with guest stalls on the surface, so ask whether a stall comes with any suite.
Suites run from about 580-square-foot one-bedrooms to 835-square-foot two-bedrooms, with strata fees around $405 to $460 a month covering building insurance, the caretaker, hot water, water, garbage, management, the recreation facilities and grounds; heating is electric baseboard. The strata allows birds, cats and small dogs with limits on number and size. Tillicum Centre's groceries, drugstore and cinema are directly across the road and bus routes stop outside.
