About the building
Hudson Place One is a 25-storey concrete tower at 777 Herald Street, completed in 2020 by Townline as the residential centrepiece of the Hudson District, the five-phase redevelopment of the former Hudson's Bay Company block between Douglas and Blanshard. Designed by Rafii Architects with interiors by Cristina Oberti, the building holds 176 homes: junior one-bedrooms, one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, and three penthouses on the top floors. The crest-shaped crown at the roofline is lit at night and changes colour, which makes the tower easy to pick out on the downtown skyline.
Residents share more than 11,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space, including social lounges and a landscaped courtyard, with secure underground parking below. The Victoria Public Market, in the restored Hudson building on the same block, is a short walk, as are the shops and restaurants of Douglas, Yates and Fort streets. Hudson Place Two beside it is a purpose-built rental tower, so the condominium homes in the district's towers are in Hudson Place One.
