About the building
NEST by Chard is a boutique 12-storey mixed-use development completed in 2024, situated where the Fernwood and Downtown Victoria neighborhoods meet. The building features 107 modern condominiums designed with sophisticated interiors, air conditioning, and expansive balconies that maximize natural light. Residents benefit from unique on-site amenities including a large childcare center, a fitness studio, and a vibrant outdoor mews with a dedicated dog run and community garden spaces.
Nest is one of a pair of Chard Development buildings at Yates Street Plaza, the other being the six-storey Haven on Johnson Street, and both were designed inside and out by Proscenium Architecture + Interiors. Construction began in 2021 and Nest received occupancy in September 2024. Of the 107 homes, 80 are one-bedroom, 25 two-bedroom and two three-bedroom plans.
The building's second floor holds a purpose-built daycare licensed for up to 50 children, with about 3,900 square feet inside and nearly 1,500 square feet of secured outdoor play space, and retail wraps the Cook and Yates corner including a restaurant with a patio. Residents of Nest and Haven share a landscaped mews with a play area, dog run and garden plots, plus a private bike-share program. The three-level underground parkade serving the plaza holds 129 residential stalls, two car-share stalls and more than 260 long-term bike spaces. One-bedrooms were priced from about $441,000 at completion.
