About the building
The Corazon is a 12-storey steel and concrete high-rise located in the heart of downtown Victoria's Hudson District. Completed in 2006 by Chard Development, the building is recognized for revitalizing the city's north end and features modern urban architecture with floor-to-ceiling windows and 9-foot ceilings. Residents enjoy a central location steps from Chinatown and City Hall, with the building offering secure underground parking.
The Corazon was designed by Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership and built by Farmer Construction for Chard, and it is registered as strata plan VIS5950 with 72 homes on a poured-concrete foundation with brick facing. Douglas magazine records completion in 2006, though some listings carry 2005. Suites range from one-bedrooms of about 600 square feet to two-bedroom-plus-office plans of roughly 1,270 square feet, with quartz counters, in-suite laundry, a storage locker and bike storage, and heating is electric baseboard.
Strata fees run from about $360 a month on the smallest plans to around $815 on the largest, and the fee covers building insurance and garbage; listings describe pets as welcome with few restrictions, so confirm the bylaw with the strata. The building scores 99 for walking, with the Public Market at the Hudson, City Hall and Chinatown all within two blocks.
