About the building
Treelane Estates is an established steel and concrete residential high-rise located on the waterfront of the Gorge Waterway. Built in 1977, this gated, adult-oriented (19+) community offers a peaceful park-like setting just minutes from the Galloping Goose Trail and Selkirk Trestle. Residents enjoy premium amenities including a guest suite, workshop, and the rooftop 'Malahat Room' lounge which offers 360-degree views of the water and Olympic Mountains.
Treelane Estates is registered as strata plan VIS609 and listed under both 103 and 105 East Gorge Road. The brick-faced concrete tower has a poured-concrete foundation and tar-and-gravel roof, and suites are large for a 1970s building: one-bedrooms of about 650 square feet and three-bedroom plans approaching 1,600 square feet, many facing the water. A top-floor one-bedroom sold in March 2026 for $410,000.
Shared facilities include bike storage, a guest suite, a hobby and work room and a recreation room, and the strata fee covers hot water, garbage, management and the recreation facilities. Confirm the age restriction and the gated-access details with the strata before writing an offer, since they vary between listings. The Gorge waterway walkway is at the door, and Selkirk Waterfront, the Galloping Goose and the Gorge Road buses are a few minutes away.
About Burnside
Burnside is the MLS name for Victoria's Burnside-Gorge neighbourhood, roughly the area between Tolmie Avenue, Blanshard Street, Chatham Street and the Gorge waterfront west of Harriet Road. It is the most mixed neighbourhood in the city: a large industrial and commercial district around Rock Bay and the Douglas Street corridor, stable residential pockets in the northwest, and new apartment and condominium buildings going up along Gorge Road, Burnside Road and the Selkirk waterfront. The City's plan calls for most of Victoria's future growth to land on the Douglas Street corridor, which is also the planned rapid-transit spine.
Mayfair Shopping Centre is the retail anchor and is designated a town centre, Selkirk Village on the Gorge is a smaller urban village, and the Burnside Gorge Community Centre is on Cecelia Road. Gorge Park, Cecelia Ravine and Arbutus Park give the area more green space than its reputation suggests, and Point Ellice House on Pleasant Street is a national historic site. Phillips, Vancouver Island, Driftwood, Hoyne and Moon Under Water breweries are all within a short walk of each other, which has made the area a stop on the BC Ale Trail. The Galloping Goose crosses the waterway on the Selkirk Trestle, and the Inner Harbour is about twenty minutes on foot.
